Amazon Studios has a Fallout TV series in the works. According to the deadline, Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy of Kilter Films will helm the series, alongside Todd Howard and James Altman of Bethesda.
“Fallout is an iconic global franchise, with legions of fans around the world and a rich, deeply compelling storyline that powers it. And Jonah and Lisa are the perfect storytellers to bring this series to life, ”said Albert Cheng, chief operating officer of Amazon Studio and co-director of television. “We’re excited to join Bethesda in bringing Fallout to TV.”
“We’re huge fans of their work,” Todd Howard said of Nolan and Joy, “and we couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios.”
We don’t yet know the details of the Fallout TV show – and there is obviously a lot to lean on. The settings for the Fallout games have included California, Nevada, Washington DC, Boston, and Virginia, and spanned several hundred years. It will be interesting to see if the series will tie directly to a specific game in the Fallout series, or if it features a whole new setting and storyline.
