Gunmen vow to ban church activities in the southeast, clerics say in collusion with political leaders

Gunmen who identified themselves as part of the Sea Masters Volunteer Force threatened to ban all church activities in the southeastern region of the country.
The armed group alleged that clerics worked with politicians to commit crimes in the area.

The gunmen made the threat in a video obtained Thursday by SaharaReporters.
In the video, the seven masked men armed with guns said they were determined to “clean up the Southeast” and end all radical Islamists.
One of the gunmen in the 2 minute 48 second video made inside an unknown forest said: ‘We are the Sea Masters Volunteer Force. We are determined to sanitize eastern Nigeria and end all radical Islamists, thereby destroying their Islamization agenda.
“We salute all the volunteer forces in the region: the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, the Avengers, the Biafran National Guard, the Avier Vipers, the Ekumeku Warriors, the Biafran League of Nations, the ‘East. We salute all volunteers who fight. We advise all freedom fighters that there be no hard feelings among us.
“We are warning all Fulani jihadists hiding in Bayelsa or Rivers states to leave now or we will expel you by force. The Christian Association of Nigeria, your actions are no longer funny. Evil politicians are now working with pastors. Imagine Governor Wike (Nyesom of Rivers State) vomiting trash in a church and so far no condemnation of any church. If this trash persists we will ban all church activities in ballast.
