The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by journalist Andrew Mullin.
Monday, September 13
8:24 p.m. – Officers have issued an arrest warrant in the area of North Saginaw Road and Sturgeon Avenue.
7:52 p.m. – A deputy was sent to a residence in Ingersoll township regarding an unconscious man. The man reacted when Michigan State Police arrived at the scene. The Michigan State Police Unit said the deputy could ignore.
7:50 p.m. – A 20-year-old registered sex offender has not verified his new residence or phone number since 2019. MPs responded to a residence in Porter Township where the 20-year-old resided. MPs have contacted the matter and a report will be forwarded to the Midland County District Attorney‘s Office.
6:00 p.m. – A 52-year-old woman from Sanford called because her 49-year-old tenant she had evicted was back and was removing property. The deputy arrived to find the man leaving the apartment. The man was told he had to go out that evening, otherwise the owner will change the locks in the morning. He said he understood and would be absent.
5:41 p.m. – Officers responded to a domestic verbal situation on Edwin Street.
3:38 p.m. – Officers responded to a domestic verbal situation on State Street.
3:35 p.m. – Officers responded to a driver operating under the influence of drugs in the Jefferson Avenue and Rodd Street area.
3:18 p.m. – Officers responded to a hit-and-run accident and a driver operating under the influence of drugs on Abbott Road.
2:09 p.m. – Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles in the Ashman Street and West Union Street area.
1:50 p.m. – Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles on North Saginaw Road.
1:49 p.m. – A deputy and an EMS have been dispatched to a residence in Larkin Township. A 17-year-old man called 911 after drinking alcohol and taking too much Tylenol. The man was transported to the emergency room by EMS for treatment.
8:34 p.m. – Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles in the area of Sturgeon Avenue and West Wackerly Street.
7:53 a.m. – MPs responded to a residence in Homer Township regarding a complaint of malicious destruction of property. MPs contacted the plaintiff, a 35-year-old man from Homer Township, who advised that someone had thrown a rock through the rear window of his pickup truck, causing approximately $ 300 in damage. There are no suspects at the moment.
7:03 a.m. – Officers responded to a hit and run accident in the Bay City Road and Waldo Avenue area.
Sunday September 12
10:17 p.m. – A deputy was sent to a residence in Ingersoll Township to help a 30-year-old man from Ingersoll Township remove the handcuffs his 4-year-old son had tied to his ankles. The deputy unlocked the handcuffs using a handcuff key.
9:32 p.m. – Officers responded to obstruction of justice and a mental petition on McDonald Street.
7:34 p.m. – MPs were sent to a Lincoln Township residence in reference to a 24-year-old woman saying a 46-year-old tenant was using her trash and claiming it as his own. The deputies informed both sides that this was a civil matter and that they should meet with the civil courts.
5:05 p.m. – A 36-year-old woman had a verbal argument with her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend in Lincoln Township. The dispute revolved around issues of custody and parenting time, and the complainant allowed her ex-boyfriend to have parenting time and the issue was resolved.
10:49 a.m. – Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles in the area of Haley and East Buttles streets.
4:18 am – A deputy carried out a traffic check in the town of Midland. The deputy spoke to the 31-year-old driver who was later arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and trafficking charges. The man has been dropped off at Midland County Jail and a report is being sent to the DA’s office.
2:26 AM – Officers responded to someone driving drunk in the Jerome Street and West Larkin Street area.
1:54 AM – An assistant has been dispatched to a Jerome Township business regarding a passerby complaint of people shouting in the parking lot. The deputy checked the area and everything looked normal.
12:36 AM – Officers responded to someone driving drunk in the area of East US 10 Business and the Waldo Avenue Overpass.
12:20 AM – An assistant has been dispatched to a roadway in Jerome Township for a report from a driver everywhere on the road. The assistant located the vehicle and carried out a roadside check. A 54-year-old man from Jerome Township has been cited for having no insurance and an unregistered vehicle.
