No vaccinations required to go to church, says the Ministry of Health

By Aaron Humes: This morning, the Ministry of Health clarified two aspects of the new COVID-19 public health regulations, effective as of today.
On the issue of religious services, the ministry corrected itself by saying: “It is not necessary to be vaccinated to go to church”.
As we reported last night, Policy 14 requires churches to hold 75% of their building capacity for parishioners, and “those in attendance must wear a face mask or other face covering (nose and mouth) and adhere to social distancing protocols.
The issue has been contentious for some churches, especially those in the evangelical wing of Christianity that previously opposed when a vaccination mandate was established last year.
We are investigating whether Regulation 6 will be clarified regarding the requirement for vaccinations to attend weddings and funerals, which, unless held on the general register, are generally religious services.
